INEC Recruitment Requirements

Requirements vary by cadre. The 2026 regular recruitment portal listed different educational and professional requirements for Grade Levels 07, 08, 09, 10 and 12.

Professional cadre

Professional vacancies included Accountant, Clinical Officer, Lawyer, ICT Officer, Engineer and Quantity Surveyor. The portal listed a bachelor's degree or equivalent, relevant professional certification where applicable, cognate experience, NYSC discharge or exemption documentation, practical competence and computer skills.

Administrative Officer II

The Grade Level 08 role required a bachelor's degree, HND or equivalent in relevant Social Sciences, Humanities or Sciences, along with experience and skills in administration, records management, data management and ICT.

Executive Officer

The Grade Level 07 route listed NCE or an equivalent qualification plus basic computer, data-handling, communication and organizational skills.
